The EEC works with energy efficiency providers to put energy efficiency at the heart of Australian energy policy, to build the market for high quality products and services, and to ensure that projects are implemented with excellence and accountability.
The Council provides a range of services to ensure the sector is well informed, well networked and works collaboratively to make the case for energy efficiency and help clients implement successful, innovative projects.
The Council focuses its activities in six sectors with a detailed policy platform for each currently under development:

- Residential energy efficiency

- Cogeneration and distributed generation
- Energy market reform
