Market Acceleration Strategy
Productive, Net-Zero Businesses
Australian businesses are at the heart of the energy transition.
Improving energy productivity lowers costs, boosts competitiveness and cuts emissions — but it requires coordinated action across the economy.
The EEC’s Productive Net-zero Businesses: Market Acceleration Plan will focus on accelerating business decarbonisation, supporting investment and turning net-zero commitments into practical, productive outcomes.
The Businesses Plan is currently in development and will launch early 2027. While this work progresses, the EEC has convened the Productive Net-Zero Businesses: Market Acceleration Taskforce to guide priorities across energy productivity, decarbonisation, net-zero strategy and workforce development. Our work in the businesses market is particularly focused on commercial buildings and industrial facilities including manufacturing and food processing.
